Lucy giles

Painter Lucy Giles draws on her year in Melbourne as part of a third year exchange programme. Spending time in the Aboriginal communities in Central and Western Australia, discovering the discarded rubbish & shapes repeatedly seen in the vast desert. Lucy transcribed this imagery into shape, line and colour to create compositions for pieces bursting with energy and spontaneity.

With a 20 year career working with sketchbook, board and canvas, Giles has exhibited at Jeannie Avent, Jane Newbury, Open Studios and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and has recently been shortlisted for the Jerwood Gallery online exhibition 2019 #MyArtistsTelescope.
